Plant is quite a tall map, compared to width and features 2 tubes for toxic waste to empty out into the pits at the bottom. Walk in the stuff and you will gradually loose health. This map is good for zappers and shotguns as long as you remember to keep behind cover, until close enough to shoot, especially if you're opponent has a sniper rifle or railgun .
AbandonmentAbandonment is basically an abandoned set of buildings and other things such as a crane in the center of the map. It is basically supposed to be inner city, which was invaded by the aliens . There are no environmental hazards in this map. This map is definitely the best for rocket launchers . This is because the floors are so thin that you can kill someone from the opposite side of a wall or floor. This map does lack the invincibility power-up, however.
BaseBase features the alien spaceport with a small alien tank-like vehicle and a larger one that makes up most of the map. They cannot be operated, however. This map lacks the health power-up. Base is quite a good grenade launcher and sniper map, with many long straight floors and open spaces, but also some multi-level compressed spaces to bombard someone with a barrage of grenades.
StrandedAnother alien map, this map is basically a huge spaceship in the middle of space. Watch you don't stray too far, or you will begin to loose oxygen and suffocate to death. This is the perfect sniper map, because, ignoring the small platforms and central pillar, this is basically one long room. If you attempt to kill someone with a zapper or shotgun in this map, you will most likely end up dead since, firstly the other players may have snipers, but also they tend to group up at either end making it even harder.
DisposalDisposal features a sort of cloud city, which disposes of goods, when not needed. The laser which destroys these can just as easily kill you if you fall on it, so watch out! The crates may also block a jump across to the other side, which may lead to you falling into the laser. There isn't a particular weapon to go for in this map, but I'd normally use a rocket launcher or form of sniper rifle if I had the chance.
VRThere is not much to configure from this map, but it seems to be a training room. It is one of the only maps to feature all the power-ups. Like Disposal, their isn't really a particular weapon to go for in this map, so generally the best weapon you get should be your first choice. An interesting detail is that all the players become neoned green 'bots', which match the map so there will be no point in customising a character, if using this map.
